FTP in dreamweaver 8 ???




i have a website(i am not hosting it or anything,it’s just for practicing making website) so i am trying to use FTP in macromedia dreamwever 8 and i don’t know how to use it.
i tryed testing server>advanced> all the information that you need to put in ,and i am confused between FTP host and Host directiory? are they both the same,
here is what i put for the Ftp host, ftp://manzoorafghani.tripod.com/1/
and for the host directory i put http://manzoorafghani.tripod.com/1/
DID NOT WORK, please HELP

    I have never used dreamweaver FTP, bu i have heard it is not very good for FTP. Instead, go to http://www.download.com and download Filezilla. It is an ftp program that is easy to use and has better manuals for FTP etc.

    The host is the name of the server (e.g. example.test.com) and the Host Directory is the actual location where you must upload the files.

    When you connect FTP, you’ll be located in your root folder on the FTP site. But most probably, you’ll need to put the files in a sub-directory (ex: htmldocspreview). THAT is your Host Directory.

    Yes, the Dreamweaver FTP is confusing at first… Just watch out not to mix up the green and blue arrows (PUT and GET)…! You should normally use the BLUE one (PUT)…
