How do I get the Port and what is it
You can contact your hosting company to be sure what your “port” is. Unless you have special requirements, 90% of the time your port will be 21. The port is like the “Host” in that it is the location of your server.

first of THANKS for doing the video!! My question is (and nobody has helped me understand this part yet), I will need to use Filezilla to upload many many websites using filezilla not just one – every video I see has some explaining how to do it one time – so why am I setting the first website as the default? How do I now publish other websites using Filezilla? I’m sure there is a simple explanation but I don’t get it? THANKS again

Well it could be a number of reasons. First thing to do would be to make sure these 3 items are correct: 1-Host(server) 2-Username (userID) 3-password.
If you have cPanel as your hosting control panel, then you can go there and find your ftp login info or change it if need be. Otherwise you may need to contact your web hosting company to get the info from them.
Once you are sure you have the correct ftp login info then reboot your computer and try again with nothing else running.
Let me know.

This was no help, this is to connect to an existing FTP site, not create a ‘new’ one…

I’m sorry this was of no help to you Memory7hief, but the title is on setting up a connection – not creating a new one. If I understand you correctly, this task would take place in your web hosting control panel. If you are wanting to create a new ftp account, let me know and I’ll post a video on how to do that here as a video response.
Here to help –

My misunderstanding, do forgive me I was frustrated at the time…. I did a tad more research and I have the Filezilla Server program, However I run into a problem having peers connect to it. If you would host a video explaining how to set up a Filezilla FTP Server configuration on how to get peers to connect to your FTP server via Username/password. I would be most appreciative. I can connect to it myself, and host files fine. But I’m using my own LAN internal ip. Thanks -Cheers

Can you show me a way to install the stuff from betaarchive on filezilla?
Hello Steve..
I don’t know what you mean. I thought
betaarchive was a site that has a bunch of
“beta” software on it.
Filezilla (FTP Software) is like an elevator
that allows you to “move” files from your PC
“up” to your web server (web site) and/or
“down” to your PC (computer).
Filezilla is not really something you install things to, is why I’m confused by your question.
Get back to me and I’ll see what I can do.

I have agree Memory, going through the same thing. I want to make my own site for peers to connect to and it seems no tutorial covers this or explains what to do if things don’t work, or if you have a firewall, etc. Though this doesn’t explain why I can’t get anything to work at least it’s not a music video, a silent movie, a PPC steer or just for views.
