problems with web server….?

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

i set up a web server using Fastream IQ Web/FTP Server. it was easy to set up and use. FAR EASIER THAN APACHE!!!! and GUI was plain darn right simple.

my thing is that i could only access it from persons who have DSL [ we have one DSL provider here in the bahamas, and one cable provider also]

if i try to access it from persons using Cable internet. i cant get the page to come up. im using the standard port 80, and after trying it by a neighbor [ who also has DSL], i got through so i didnt bother to change the port.

what can be causing this. do i need to change the port. im using a WRT54G version 6 router by Linksys, and i have Windows firewall turned off. I have the router set to forward throught port 80, and like i said above i have dsl.

really need some help.
i dont get that? is that some sor tof trace routing…..

  • Larry says:

    Cable company’s routing is off

do this from server to clients ip an from client to server,

server side “tracert ip_of_user…..ex: tracert 65.88.3.2

    have clients do c:tracert http://www.myweb…...

    you will get
    Tracing route to jaxnconsulting.com [65.98.6.26]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

    1 13 ms 3 ms 4 ms 192.168.1.1
    2 12 ms 10 ms 12 ms 10.56.64.1
    3 23 ms 11 ms 14 ms srp15-0.mmphtnab-rtr1.midsout
    65]

this shows the internet route (path)
