How do I prevent fragmentation during a HUGE FTP process on Windows?
When we run a HUGE FTP process onto a Windows server the disk fragmentation goes very high. We have 4 – 5 FTPs running at the same time which causes a large amount of fragmentation to occur. This create a lot of performance problems on the disk.
My question is how to prevent fragmentation during an FTP process on Windows? I know we could run a defrag after the FTP process but that is not an option right now because we need the files immediately after the FTP process. Also, running Diskeeper after the FTP while we are reading the files causes locking issues.
Any help would be great!
