when I try to go on , sometimes it’s slow and it will say internet explorer cannot display webpage.. then I run the network diagnostics and sometimes it says cannot connect to internet using http, https, or ftp probably caused by a firewall setting, then sometimes it will say, connection has been restored, and it will work alright. I checked those ports and opened them but I still have the problem, can some one help I’v been going crazy for 3 weeks now!

I was wondering how i could go about blocking some users on a home network from downloading P2P files without them knowing. I have their IP and Mac addresses and have a netgear router. The router comes with firewall rules that you can implement to block usage such as Block all FTP, TCP, UDP etc but im not sure which one to use or if this is the right way of doing it.

I am trying to upload a FrontPage web to remote location. I can not log into my remote account with Filezilla. I do not have a firewall enabled, but how do I verify that Port 21 is not blocked?

How can I prevent the firewall client running on my computer from blocking the necessary FTP ports?
