DHCP and FTP part II?
ok, early I asked this question: Even if my computer uses DHCP can I still use FTP file transfer by noting the current IP address of the computer that which I wish to act as the server. Not very effiecient, but it would work for a day or so right?
To which I got both yes and no answers. With this answer sounding the most reasonable: likely not. The IP address you see is probably being used by a hundred or more other people, all seperated by a subnet mask. You can FTP out all day long, but having something come in…. not likely
Can someone please help verify this and explain more. It seems correct, because I can’t get it to work. Others have said you can do it with no-ip.com – Any anwers?
