people use ftp sites though they r out-dated.y?what r its advantages and y did it become out-dated what were its disadvantages
ftp is out dated in the sense that its in dos and u can find the same info using a browser too

Hello, Is it actually posiible to create a new protocol. One like FTP, HTTP or TCP/IP? Also, How would u go about doing it.

I need to know what is file transfer protocol and who provides it.

I’m playing a game and every time when it tryes to download patches I get an error “FtpOpenFile Error”. I tried to go to some ftp pages from microsoft as a test, but there is still a problem. I’m running Win XP Pro, IE6. Can you tell me how to fix this problem? I installed IIS(Internet Information Services) but stiil problem. Any help greatly appreciated.
I’m running McAfee Personal Firewall but it happens even when the firewall is off + Windows Firewall is off too.

I’m playing KnightOnline and every time when the game tryes to automatically download patches an error appears saying that I can’t download them because it uses FTP protocol. It is something to do with the FTP protocol. I think it is not working. How can I fix it? Any help appreciated….
It also happens when my antivirus and windows firewall is off. I think there isnt ftp installed on my pc.
Yourseverlasting!!! I know what you r talking about. I “can” download the patches but I can’t install them properly. The game itself needs to install them. And it uses FTP to download them.
