Network Configuration SBS 2003?
Ok- thanks to you guys, I’ve come this far. So now I have my basic configurations down: SBS 2003 R2 running the email, website, DNS, possibly ftp, and all the user data. I’ll go with hot swappable SCSI RAID1 for OS and RAID5 for data- all with LTO tape backup. Two T1s coming into a static IP router will forward all required ports through the firewall, then the switch to SBS box & users. That’s all local. So now I have two questions…
1. Is this going to be too much for one server to handle?
2. What do I do with the people that are not local? We have 2 or 3 sites that should be easy (just a few users in each), so I’m thinking a VPN for them. My greater concern is our technical location where they do satellite broadcasting and have their own half-ass network set up now. What’s the easiest way to link them to us… trust domains over a WAN? Where should their authentication take place, etc? What am I missing? How do I bring all this together?
