For years I have been using deluxFTP to upload files to my website. They have decided to remove telnet and ftp privileges in favor of secure protocols, which I completely agree with. The problem is I cannot get it to work. I am using the exact same login, host name and password that I have used for years, which I have been told has not changed. It tells me that my host does not exist. Is there anyway to find the correct host name from my already loaded site? I really need to upload something and IT is not really helping much.
Yes, I am connecting through port 22, but I also tried 21 just ofr kicks

When I run a seagate stealth scan, telnet, ftp ssh and web port show as open. It then says ” You are not fully protected:
We have detected that some of our probes connected with your computer.” I need to close these ports but havent succeded. I have used zone alarm and seagate personal firewall.. I have disabled the services but it still says port open! what am i doing wrong?

What is the difference between FTP and telnet?

I have tried many guest books examples and samples from various website like hotscripts. but even i uploaded it it doesn’t work. can any one provide me any guest book which can be easily uploaded in server without using the ftp and telnet i mean i don’t know and want to edit and configure the files on chmod 777 etc.
