I was wondering what the difference was? My website has been on a windows based server and is being transferred to a Linux. Will I have any problems with my current FTP. My computer uses Windows.

I know I can use ftp but is there a way to upload through Remote Desktop. This is for Windows Server 2003.

We are doing a lab in school, and we have created a FTP and now need a Web server. Our lab has all the routers and switches ready but we need to start a Web Server. We have like 24 PCs.

How do i send a file from unix to windows server using ftp or windows ?

When we run a HUGE FTP process onto a Windows server the disk fragmentation goes very high. We have 4 – 5 FTPs running at the same time which causes a large amount of fragmentation to occur. This create a lot of performance problems on the disk.

My question is how to prevent fragmentation during an FTP process on Windows? I know we could run a defrag after the FTP process but that is not an option right now because we need the files immediately after the FTP process. Also, running Diskeeper after the FTP while we are reading the files causes locking issues.

Any help would be great!
